Semiramis can have her pick of men. From palace guards to temple priests to foot soldiers, the gold-adorned queen sates her every passion and explores her every fantasy behind the veil of the legendary hanging gardens of Babylon. But it is not long before her wanton ways anger the high priest, Kerosus, who will do anything in his power to interrupt the queen’s pursuit of pleasure and undermine her rule of Babylon.

While trying to retain control of her kingdom, Semiramis finds herself drawn to not one but two unique men who test her hardened heart in different ways. Sharru, the devoted lover, is the first man to make Semiramis feel worthy of love, while Demas, the self-possessed priest serving under Kerosus, evokes in the queen memories of her girlhood, when she was initiated into the secret mysteries of the god,Marduk. Remembering those sacred rites opens up a floodgate of renewed desire in Semiramis, and it binds her more tightly to the two men who see through the Queen to the girl within.
